Drug Detection Dogs are trained as either passive or pro-active search dogs, and are deployed in a number of different areas and operational roles.

Pro-active Drug Detection
Locate drugs and associated paraphernalia for example in luggage or containers
Passive Drug Detection
Primarily used in person searches especially in airports, ports, etc.
Dual Capability Drug Detection
Trained to operate both passively and pro-actively, to meet varying search environments
